About Us
Our sporting goods store specializes in providing sporting apparel, equipment and foot wear for team and individual sports. We also offer custom fittings and special recommendations for individual athletes based on position played and athletic build, in nearly all team sports. For SavOn, sporting goods is more than just finding the right shoe for a soccer player, or fitting pads for a new football team. Sports is a way of life; team collaboration, giving your personal best and stretching yourself further than you thought possible.
The desire to help athletes of all ages perform at their optimal level affects every part of our business; the staff, the team sports equipment we carry and the services we offer.

Company History
Mr. Marc Rubin originally opened SavOn in 1978. After selling the company a few years later, Mr. Rubin’s son, Marc wanted to reopen the sporting goods store. In 1982 he opened up shop out of his garage, before moving to his first store front. “From the beginning we’ve always had a great following and thrived on word of mouth advertising and repeat customers,” says current owner Justin Nakaishi.
Marc encountered some health issues and passed on in 2003. His brother Mike took over the family business until 2009 when Justin purchased SavOn.
Justin Nakaishi, owner, began using equipment and athletic wear from SavOn when he was a boy in school sports. Hired on as an employee in 2001, after playing baseball at the College of Southern Idaho, Twin Falls and at Washington State University, Justin’s passion for the sporting world has propelled SavOn into Northern Utah’s foremost experienced equipment retail outlet.
Justin’s vast baseball experience has molded his ability to connect individual players with the perfect equipment. Baseball is in his blood. This passion extends the service he offers to helping people find the right bat for their build and swing style. He is in the community, serving as mentor and coach, friend and equipment broker, Justin offers great service and passion for the world of sports.
